Positive thinking during the lockdown

We are living in unprecedented times, all of us have seen so much disruption to our daily lives in the last few weeks. It is easy to worry and focus on only loss during this time, and whilst I have been thinking of loved ones, my family and I have been distracting ourselves with some positive news stories.

In particular, we have been following the fantastic efforts of Captain Tom, who has raised over £31m for NHS Charities by walking his garden 100 times, not all too far from Harpenden! Have you donated to Captain Tom, or run 5k to donate £5 to NHS, or do you support all key workers by clapping at 8pm on Thursdays?

In my Street we have been united in Clapping for all Key Workers on Thursdays, shopping for neighbours, organising Easter Egg Hunts for younger children and tomorrow we are doing a Finding Nemo/Dory hunt for a little boys 2nd birthday. We have truly come together during these difficult times, we have come to know many more of our neighbours with a WhatsApp chat - our road is very long so we hadn’t interacted as much as we would’ve liked in the past!
